2022 really was a milestone year for Pink Robot Studios. The growth my little company has shown over the past year has been nothing short of incredible, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to work on amazing projects with amazing people.

In honor of the new year, I took stock of everything I was doing here at Pink Robot Studios and…changed almost all of it. New year, new me, right?

Super-Speed Upgrades

First up on the list, I’ve essentially put all my sites on hyperdrive. I always tell my clients that increasing website speed is one of the single most important investments a website owner can make. If you thought Pink Robot sites were fast before, wait till you see the load times now – or rather, not see them.

I’ve made a significant upgrade to the dedicated servers that host all websites in the Pink Robot Studios family. This included investing in an entirely new server architecture on a new hosting platform which delivers crazy fast speeds. All my sites are also now proud owners of a lightning-fast Content Delivery Network designed to shoot maximum speed light beams to infinity and beyond.

Since this switch, I’ve seen initial load times increase by over 400% and user retention rates skyrocket by double digits. Average load times across all Pink Robot Studios sites are now comfortably under one second. It just goes to show the difference good hosting can make for your website. Of course, this upgrade comes at no cost to my current hosting subscribers, who will continue to pay the same rates they always have. It’s part of my “no hidden fees” guarantee.

Pricing Changes

This year, I’ve decided to allow subscription-based pricing in addition to my standard one-off pricing structure.

Oh boy, I spent a lot of time thinking about this one. I’ll be honest – I normally hate subscriptions. The only time I would ever consider offering them is if I feel I can provide another level of service to the customer beyond what one-off payments can accomplish. And I believe I’ve gone even further with it.

I’m really proud of what I was able to put together with my subscription pricing. I consulted several of my past clients for feedback and built plans that are mutually beneficial for everyone involved. They also facilitate my absolute favorite part of owning this business – developing lasting relationships with people I’ve completed projects for. It comes in handy in times like these where I need input on my ideas.

I’ve had a super positive response to these plans so far, and I’m really excited to bring this level of value to as many people as possible.

Studying Up

As a full-time college student, I don’t get breaks from studying often. So I took this opportunity with winter break to…do more studying.

I’m a huge fan of YouTube University. Anything you want to learn can and will have dozens of videos on YouTube about it. Over the past year, I built up a backlog of design tutorial videos on there like you wouldn’t believe. During winter break, I challenged myself to improve my design skills as much as humanly possible within a two-week time span. And you know what? I’d like to see someone try and do better than how I just did.

With the influx of new clients I’ve experienced so far this month, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to sharpen these skills even further. I can confidently say the past three sites I’ve made are the best three sites I’ve ever made.

That’s a statement I never want to be untrue – always improving, always reaching that next step. That’s what owning a business is all about.

Looking Ahead

I’m always looking toward to the future for Pink Robot Studios, and now is the first time I’m going to have to put on two pairs of sunglasses – one’s just not cutting it anymore. I’m thrilled to be in the position I am now, and to feel confident in my life post-college. I’ve got one more semester left, then it’s time for Pink Robot to take over the world. Next stop, the presidency! Look out for my campaign flyers in 2024.
