Wow.
On October 27th, 2020, I officially launched Pink Robot Studios. I started out with a laptop and a dream, and now I’ve got a laptop and a dream and dozens of happy clients.
This company has expanded faster than I ever could have imagined, and I am incredibly grateful to everybody who’s supported me along the way. I’ve had the opportunity to create content for everything from lawn care companies to insurance agencies to multimedia networks, every single one of which has been an unbelievably exciting experience.
I even have my own business cards. That’s how you know I’m official.
But the best part about the past year is the headstart I’ve gotten on accomplishing my goals.
As many of you know, my mission at the heart of Pink Robot Studios is to use my skills and resources to make this a better world for all of us. I think I’m succeeding. So far, I’ve donated over $1000 to various charities, planted 121 trees, and raised awareness for various issues, including LGBTQ+ rights and wildfire prevention. I’m also proud to be a signee of the Sustainable Web Manifesto, use wind-powered hosting, and donate a percentage of all my profits to climate initiatives.
Through all this, I’ve been able to improve my services and create a design studio I truly believe is the best in Boise. Almost all of my business comes from referrals from previous clients, which as far as I’m concerned is the best way to get business. Never have I left a project without the client being completely satisfied with the final product. I’m still maintaining my five-star rating on Google, and I intend to continue maintaining it.
Recently, I sent out a survey to all of my previous project owners. I was hoping to gain insight into what I could improve on and what I was already doing well. The first question was a simple one: how would you rate your experience working with me? I was shocked to see that every response was a 5. (out of 5, that is.)
Seeing those results made me proud to be a business owner. Once again, I’d like to extend a genuine thank you to everybody who’s worked with me in the past. It’s been swell.
But this is just the beginning – I have big plans for the future of this company. I intend to create content for the rest of my life. The way I see it, owning this company is just an excuse to keep making stuff. I have yet to encounter a project that wasn’t an absolute joy from start to finish, which is a trend I think will continue far into the future. I’ve been producing my best work lately, including one site I absolutely cannot wait to share.
Making this stuff is just too much damn fun. See you all soon.
