Ukraine is a country I truthfully hadn’t thought much about before this year. It’s interesting how humanitarian crises can expand your point of view.
As I’m sure is the case with most Americans, I’ve been hastily refreshing my AP News feed every couple of hours to see the latest updates on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I’m continually amazed at the willpower and patriotism of the Ukrainian people with each passing day. It’s an incredible sight to see – beyond the chaos and atrocities, a nation of people all standing up for the same cause.
As some of you know, I have a recurring series of “donation months” here at Pink Robot Studios. Most of the time, I have to think hard about where I want my money to go, but this time the decision was obvious. This month, I’ll be donating 20% of profits to Heart to Heart International.
As one of the highest-rated charities operating in Ukraine currently, Heart to Heart International has donated thousands of hygiene kits and medical supply pallets to people in need. You can read about their Ukraine efforts on their blog.
As always, this 20% donation will be in addition to the 5% base donation I make every year. That means all projects started during the month of April will mean a 25% donation to charity. I’m excited to be starting this initiative and I hope I’m able to help the people of Ukraine, if only a little.
By the way, Ukraine’s flag is impeccable. Two colors in a simple layout with high contrast? Now that’s good graphic design.
